Booking conditions
The following booking conditions and general information contained in this website form the basis of your contract with Briars Hall Ltd.
The person making the booking (“the party leader”) must be at least 18 and must be authorised to make the booking on the basis of the booking conditions by all persons named on the booking. The party leader is responsible for making all payments due to Briars Hall Ltd.
Accommodation
In order to confirm your accommodation a non-refundable deposit of £25.00
is required.
In case of a cancellation your £25.00 deposit is non-refundable
and will be used for administration costs. All reservations cancelled
within 24 hours prior to arrival will be charged at the equivalent of
one night’s full value of accommodation booked. We suggest you
have travel insurance in place to protect against cancellation charges.
Weddings & banqueting
1. The booking will be provisional until a non-refundable deposit of £500 is received to confirm your event, accompanied by a fully completed contract signed by the client and counter signed on behalf of the Hotel.
2. The Hotels wedding co-ordinator will contact you 12 weeks prior to the date of your event to arrange your 10 week appointment… 50% of your projected full balance will be payable at this meeting and is non-refundable.
3. The Hotels wedding co-ordinator will again contact you 6 weeks before the date of your event to arrange your 4 week appointment when she will discuss your final minimum catering numbers and drinks pack. The final balance will be payable at this point and again is non-refundable.
4. The final chargeable amount is that stated on the final balance, unless numbers increase after the final balance has been paid.
5. In the event of the numbers increasing after the final balance any excess money owed to the Hotel must be paid 7 days prior to the event taking place.
6. The Hotel will not accept a cheque for payment of any balances, services or accommodation later than 14 days before the event.
7. The Hotel reserves the right to charge for no less than 95% of total minimum catering numbers quoted by the client when confirming their event.
8. Your quoted and final minimum catering numbers and balances are based on each guest having a starter, main and dessert for the daytime event and choice of buffet for the evening event taken from the wedding brochure, or any other choice of menu costing at least the same as the menus in the wedding brochure unless otherwise agreed by the Hotel and client in writing when confirming the event.
9. All catering prices are subject to change without prior notice: a confirmed quotation will only normally be given 10 weeks prior to the event.
10. The Hotel will not accept outside catering under any circumstances
11. The Hotel applies a corkage charge to both wine and sparkling wine. All other alcohol and soft drinks consumed on the premises must be purchased from the Hotel
12. Where credit cards are used for payments, a 5% surcharge will be levied.
13. Any Entertainment sourced through the hotel must be confirmed when booking your event.
14. The Hotel will not be held liable in any way for any entertainment booked through the hotel or by the client or by a third party.
15. Please inform guests requiring accommodation; a non-refundable deposit of £25.00 is required to confirm the room. Unconfirmed rooms will be released four weeks prior to the day of the event: standard accommodation terms and conditions apply. We operate a strictly no smoking policy in all our bedrooms.
16. Upon check in, the hotel will require credit card details on each room for security purposes.
17. The Hotel reserves the right to move the date or cancel the event, if it feels the contract has not been fully met.
18. The Hotel reserves the right to update or change the terms and conditions without prior notice
19. All prices are inclusive of VAT
Deposits & Cancellations
In the unfortunate circumstances that you have to cancel or postpone your event, all deposits and balances relating to you or your guests are non-refundable and in addition the cancellation fees, which are listed below, will apply.
Cancellation Fee notice on events stated below, are based on minimum catering numbers and corresponding balances:
Over 177 days a surcharge of 25% of your balance is payable, 177- 88 days 50% / 87-30 days 75% / 29-8 days 95% 7 days or less - Full Balance
